Ben is a veteran of stages and screens of all sizes. He has performed on stages all over the US, and has been seen and heard around the world in film, television, commercials and voice-overs.
Originally from northern Michigan, Ben began acting at the age of 9 in the many theaters in his small town, and continued his training at Western Michigan University (BA) and Western Illinois University (MFA). After graduating, Ben moved to NYC to continue his career, and has steadily worked on camera and mics, Off & Off-Off Broadway, on tour, and regionally. In NYC, he is a member of NYLON FUSION THEATRE and works regularly at the Obie Award winning METROPOLITAN PLAYHOUSE.
Ben is at his best playing broken dreamers who often continue to fight for their dreams, ala Willie Loman in DEATH OF A SALESMAN or Lester Burnham in AMERICAN BEAUTY.
Commercially, his Midwest charm makes him an ideal suburban dad, and, with his easy manner and ability to handle difficult text, a sought after spokesperson.
In addition to his acting work, Ben is an avid painter, photographer and cyclist. He's also in his third year working with the awesome 5th graders at STAR Academy-P.S. 63 as a mentor in the YOUNG STORYTELLERS program.
